I’m Clair, owner of Twysted Roots and maker of handmade bead and wire Tree of Life sculptures. I’m also #QueenOf Wire Trees
I moved to Cornwall from the Scottish Borders just over 4 years ago. I live with my two sons and two dogs and and started working from home as it allowed me to do something for myself as well as being a carer. I’ve always been artistic and love drawing and painting and looking at things and going “oooh I could do / make that!” and then spending a fortune on whatever medium it happens to be in. I’m autistic, as is my younger son and I don’t go out much unless it’s to walk the dogs, which I do several times a day. Just as well I have them otherwise I’d lose all track of time when I get stuck into tree making mode.
Creating wire and bead trees has combined my love of art, creativity and being inspired by colours and by nature. Every tree is made by hand and unique. and cannot be exactly replicated so you are guaranteed to have a one off design. Trees can be of a single bead or wire colour or a complimentary or contrasting mix. They make a lovely gift either as a stand alone decorative item, part of a collection, or even as a cake topper for a celebratory cake.
Twysted Roots website offers a range of ready to buy items and also welcomes commissions / custom orders
If you’ve seen something you like but it’s out of stock or you’d prefer in a different colour or style, then please do get in touch via the contact page on Twysted Roots website, or through any of the social media platforms I'm on.. I work with tarnish resistant copper wire which is available in a range of colours. My main beads of choice are glass seed beads but I do have a wide range of other beads which I will sometimes incorporate into a design such as lampwork, glass or gemstone. The trees I make are designed to be self supporting and will stand on their own. Please ask if you'd prefer a base though, as I may have suitable pieces that I could add. I do ship worldwide; everything is sent signed for or tracked and requires a signature upon arrival. For all other information, please visit Twysted Roots website or drop me a line or two if you have any questions.
