I can't remember a time when I didn't knit - I believe I started knitting scarves for my dolls! Describing myself as an Artisan Knitter I am lucky to live and work in the beautiful Scottish Border country where sheep have always grazed on it's rolling green fields and hills - raising sheep, spinning yarn and knitting were once the main occupation of the Borders people. I was raised as a farm child - the youngest of seven children and watched my mother knitting for her brood from the wool my father had sheared from the sheep - his other brood!! My mother, then in turn my older sisters, taught me how to knit simple things before I went on to the more complicated and varied items you see on my website. My working day consists of firstly walking our dog, a Border Terrier called Brodie who has lots of energy and keeps me fit before starting my working day by checking for orders, sending out orders then getting on with the bit I like best - knitting!! In summer, I sit outside in the garden with my knitting and in winter, I have a very comfortable armchair in front of the fire - I love my work! I have two claims to fame regarding my knitting - I was chosen to knit for the major TV series "Outlander" and occasionally knit bespoke items for a famous London store
