It’s been a couple of weeks since I blogged last, mainly due to the fact that it’s been a bit busier than usual (not something I have any complaints about of course!). I have, in that time, managed to tuck in a little bit of design time for new products and here’s one of them.
It’s not quite right yet, there’s still a couple of niggling little details I have to work out, but may I present The Mother of All Boxes; the latest in my ever-growing range of small gift boxes. For those who are interested the name is a play-on-words for the GBU-45 MOAB used by the US Air Force, the largest non-nuclear ordnance in their arsenal and so big it has to be chucked out of a C-130 Hercules because no bomber has the structural strength to carry it. MOAB in this case stands for ‘Massive Ordnance Air Blast’ as it’s a fuel/air explosive, an acronym which is usually paraphrased to mean ‘Mother Of All Bombs’ because… well… it’s really big. Yes, I know I said the real MOAB is non-nuclear and this little gift-box has nuclear markings on it, but I just thought the name would tie in nicely.
I’d call it ‘cute’ but I’m not sure that’s a word which could be used in terms of nuclear weapons, but I’m still quite pleased as to how this little bomb has come out. Maybe it could be used as a gift box for someone who’s a massive fan of the Fallout series of games? Maybe you could use the other version I have planned, with red hearts in place of the radiation symbols, as a blast of love for someone you think is ‘the bomb’ (I’ve never understood that phrase; do you expect them to explode or something…?).
In any case I’m hoping to have it available very soon. Hopefully it’ll blow you away! (see what i did there…..)
